DWTFU: Episode 3 – Face the Truth

Hey, Independent Restaurant Owners!

This is Donald Burns, The Restaurant Coach®️, and it’s time for your DAILY WAKE THE F*CK UP!

Let’s have a little heart-to-heart today.

You’ve heard the saying, “The truth will set you free,” right?

Well, before it sets you free, it’s going to piss you the f*ck off.

And that’s exactly why most people avoid hiring a coach – they’re terrified of being exposed as a liar, especially to themselves.

Yeah, that’s right!

You’re lying to yourself every single day.

Telling yourself everything’s fine when it’s not.

Convincing yourself you’re doing everything you can when deep down, you know you’re not.

Pretending you’ve got it all figured out when you’re actually drowning.

And the last thing you want is someone like me coming in, ripping off the Band-Aid, and showing you just how deep the wound really goes.

Here’s the brutal truth – most people don’t hire a coach because they don’t want to face their own bullsh*t.

They’d rather live in denial, telling themselves they’re doing great, even as their restaurant spirals into chaos.

Why?

Because the truth f*cking hurts.

It’s uncomfortable, it’s confronting, and it’s going to make you face parts of yourself that you’ve been avoiding for years.

But here’s the thing – the truth, as ugly and painful as it is, is the only thing that’s going to set you free.

You can’t fix what you won’t face.

You can’t improve what you won’t acknowledge.

And you sure as hell can’t grow if you’re stuck in a web of your own lies.

The truth is the key that unlocks the door to your success, but it’s going to feel like a punch in the gut when you first hear it.

I’m not here to sugarcoat it – when you work with me, I’m going to hold up a mirror, and you might not like what you see.

But I’m also going to help you change it.

I’m going to help you rip out those lies by the roots and replace them with the hard, honest truth.

And that’s when the real work begins – when you start to rebuild on a foundation of truth instead of the lies you’ve been telling yourself.

Look, I get it.

It’s easier to stay comfortable in the lie than to face the truth.

But comfort is the enemy of progress.

If you really want to succeed, if you really want to break free from the chains holding you back, you’ve got to be willing to get uncomfortable.

You’ve got to be willing to get pissed off, to get raw, and to get real.

That’s where the magic happens.

So here’s your wake-up call: Stop lying to yourself.

Stop hiding from the truth.

If you’re ready to face it, if you’re ready to take the first step toward real freedom, then head over to www.TheRestaurantCoach.com right now and book a complimentary 1:1 strategy session with me.

We’re just going to have a conversation about where you and your restaurant are right now and where you want to be in 90 days.

Just a conversation.

The truth will set you free, but first, it’s going to piss you off.

And you know what?

That’s exactly what you need.

So stop running from it.

Face it, own it, and let’s get to work.

The only thing standing between you and the success you deserve is the lies you’re telling yourself.

Let’s tear those lies down and build something real.

DWTFU: Episode 2 – Cut The Cancer

Hey, Independent Restaurant Owners!

This is Donald Burns, The Restaurant Coach®️, and it’s time for your DAILY WAKE THE F*CK UP!

Some of you need a serious reality check.

Why the hell are you letting these negative, energy-sucking vampires stay in your restaurant?

You know exactly who I’m talking about – those toxic team members who drag everyone down, turning your place into a black hole of misery.

So why are they still on your payroll?

Listen, I get it.

You’ve got a big heart.

You want to see the good in people.

But let’s get one thing straight – your restaurant isn’t a charity, and you’re not here to save people who don’t want to save themselves.

Every minute you keep these people around, you’re letting them chip away at everything you’ve busted your ass to build.

If you keep this up, you’re not leading – you’re babysitting.

These people aren’t just bad for business; they’re a cancer in your culture.

I’ve been there.

I had this bartender early in my career who could turn a five-star guest experience into a two-star disaster.

I kept him around because I was too damn scared to deal with the headache of firing him.

But when he no-showed during a huge event, I finally woke the f*ck up and fired him.

And you know what?

My restaurant – and my sanity – was better for it.

But here’s the kicker – I didn’t have a coach back then.

I made every mistake in the book, and it cost me time, money, and more sleepless nights than I care to remember.

If I’d had someone to guide me, I could’ve avoided so much pain.

That’s why I’m here now – to make sure you don’t go through the same sh*t I did.

Stop tolerating mediocrity.

You’re letting these toxic assholes run your restaurant into the ground.

Have the tough conversations.

Give them the chance to step the fck up or get the fck out.

And if they don’t rise to the occasion, show them the door.

Keeping them around isn’t helping anyone – not your team, not your guests, and sure as hell not you.

You know this already, but you’ve been too scared to act.

That fear is making you weak.

It’s time to take action.

Because if you don’t, you’re going to drive your restaurant straight into a brick wall.

Head over to TheRestaurantCoach.com right now and book a complimentary 1:1 strategy session with me.

We’re just going to have a conversation about where you and your restaurant are right now and where you want to be in 90 days.

Just a conversation.

Let me show you how to get out of the valley of mediocrity and start climbing to success.

You didn’t build your restaurant to have it taken down by people who don’t give a f*ck.

Your restaurant deserves better.

YOU deserve better.

Stop hiding, stop avoiding, and start leading.

Do it now.

Your restaurant – and your sanity – will thank you.

And maybe, just maybe, you’ll finally get rid of that bad energy and find someone who actually gives a sh*t.

DWTFU: Episode 1 – Stop Lying

Hey, Independent Restaurant Owners!

This is Donald Burns, The Restaurant Coach®️, and it’s time for your DAILY WAKE THE FUCK UP! This is Episode 1!

Let’s get one thing straight – the biggest lie you’re telling isn’t to your guests, your staff, or even your accountant.

The biggest lie you’re telling is to YOURSELF, and it’s slowly but surely KILLING YOUR RESTAURANT.

You know that little voice in your head?

The one that tells you, “It’s not that bad,” or “I’ve got this under control,” or “It’ll get better on its own”?

Yeah, that’s the voice of DELUSION.

And every time you listen to it, every time you convince yourself that you’re doing enough when you know deep down you’re not, you’re digging your restaurant’s grave just a little bit deeper.

Today’s brutal truth?

If your restaurant sucks, it’s because YOU SUCK at running it.

Yeah, I said it.

You want to blame the economy, your location, your staff, whatever – but the fact is, the buck stops with YOU.

You are the captain of this ship, and if it’s heading toward an iceberg, it’s because you’re asleep at the fucking wheel.

Lying to yourself is easy.

It’s comfortable.

It lets you off the hook.

But guess what?

That lie is going to sink you faster than any competition or bad review ever could.

The longer you keep fooling yourself into thinking that what you’re doing is working, the closer you’re getting to total disaster.

It’s time to wake the fuck up and face the facts – what you’re doing ISN’T WORKING.

And if you don’t change course, and change it fast, you’re going to hit that iceberg, and it’s GAME OVER.

So here’s your wake-up call: Stop bullshitting yourself.

Look in the mirror and ask the hard questions.

Are you really putting in the work?

Are you holding yourself and your team to the highest standards?

Are you innovating, adapting, and growing, or are you just coasting, hoping things will magically improve?

Because newsflash – they won’t.

You’ve got one shot, one opportunity to turn this ship around before it’s too late.

You can’t keep doing the same thing and expecting different results.

You need to get real with yourself, admit where you’re falling short, and take massive, decisive action to fix it.

This isn’t a fucking game – this is your life’s work, and you owe it to yourself and everyone who depends on you to get your shit together and steer your restaurant away from the brink.

Listen, enough talk.

It’s time to take action.

Because if you don’t take some new action, you’re going to take a trip to fuck around and find out.

Trust me, that is not a trip you want to take.

Head over to www.TheRestaurantCoach.com right now and book a complimentary 1:1 strategy session with me personally.

We’re just going to have a conversation about where you and your restaurant are right now and where you want to be in 90 days.

Just a conversation.

And allow me to show you a simple three-step framework to get out of the valley of mediocrity and start the climb to the summit of success.

Stop lying to yourself.

Stop making excuses.

It’s time to own up, step up, and get your restaurant – and your life – back on track.

This is your one shot.

Don’t fucking blow it.
